Over our eight-year history BD has experienced zero accidents, zero injuries, and zero incidences on all of our job sites.
We are extremely proud of our safety record, for a number of reasons. First and foremost, because we value the well-being of our employees and subcontractors. Also, we realize that operating a safe worksite keeps projects on schedule.
Our outstanding safety track record is a direct result of the safety protocols we have in place. These protocols include the development of a comprehensive Safety Prevention Program and a Site Safety Program for every project.
On each job site the superintendent has a BD site-specific safety manual that includes “toolbox talks,” visitor logs, an OSHA 300 log, and a 301 incident/accident reporting log. The superintendent can refer to this manual at any time to address any safety issues that may arise.
Toolbox talks are conducted by the superintendent every week on every jobsite. The purpose is to reinforce general safety, the use of personal protection equipment, scaffolding safety (if it’s in use on that particular site), proper signage, and any other safety issues that need to be addressed.
Additionally, all of our field personnel are required to be OSHA 10 certified and we continually encourage them to obtain OSHA 30 and other safety-related certifications as well. Our key personnel are already OSHA 30 certified and lead certified.
Continuing safety education is made available to all of BD’s tradesmen and safety staff. This includes discussions on safety regulation changes, code revisions, etc.
